Clinical Trials

Centennial Medical Group in partnership with Rx Trials Inc.  now provides  the opportunity to participate in clinical research studies  that we feel provides many benefits to participants. Some of the benefits of clinical research studies to participants are:

  •  The availability of new treatments and medications that  have not yet been released for sale,
  •  The ability to contribute to the advancement of medicine so that others may benefit,
  •  Medications and medical testing at no cost to patients, and
  •  Reimbursement for the transportation costs of participating in the trials.
  • Please call your physician or our research staff, Kim Moore, Arlene Posadas at 410-799-1695 or 410-730-3399 x 126 if you have any questions about any of the  studies listed, or if you may want to participate in future trials.

FAQ's

  • What is a clinical research study?

Participating in clinical research is important for the development of new medications and new treatments. Only after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved new medications can physicians prescribe medication. We depend on volunteers like you to participate in clinical research and help to develop new medications.

  • What happens during a clinical study?

Your participation begins with the informed consent document. This form is reviewed by an independent ethics board to ensure its accuracy and compliance with ethical standards. The form includes information about the potential benefits as well as potential risks of participation in the study. Any questions you have after reading the form will be answered by our staff. Once enrolled in the study, you will have your vital signs taken, a physical examination, and usually an electrocardiogram (EKG) and blood tests will be taken.  Once you meet the qualifications, you are given the study medication. There is no cost for these services and you may receive compensation for the cost of transportation once you are enrolled into a study. The independent review board constantly monitors the study to ensure the safety of study volunteers.

  • What is it like to come for a study visit?

We try to make your visit a comfortable and enjoyable one. You will cared for by our physicians and study coordinators, all of whom are experts in their fields. Our research staff are not rushed and have the time to listen to your concerns and questions about your clinical study. We are glad to help you understand your condition and how the clinical study might benefit you.

  • What items are typically provided at no charge?

       Physical examination

       Laboratory tests

       Electrocardiogram (EKG)

       Specialized blood tests as needed

       Study medication

       Compensation for transportation costs.
